New recording of Well Adjusted
On February 5th Robert put a brand new, studio recording of Well Adjusted on his blog, originally for a day only. The track is now on this website too, for a few weeks only. It’s the first track to come out of Robert’s latest sessions in a professional studio. It’s not fully mixed but all the elements are there. The track will be part of the new EP “The Outsider” which should be released in April or May.Gigs galore

New Raving Loonies Show
Raving Loonies Stole My Heart will perform another show at Wolverhampton’s Arena Theatre on October 30th. It’s a Halloween themed show called The Terrifying Tour of Terrible Terror, and the audience are invited to come in fancy dress, Tickets cost £5 call 01902 321 321 for more information

Robert will be performing
in 2009 with The Rockin’ Berries,a
genuine 1960s “BrumBeat” band. Check out the blog
for a lovely link to a 1960s performance by these guys. Also appearing
is Malcolm Stent, famous Birmingham comedian. The gig will take place
on Thursday the 30th of April at Arden Hall in Castle Bromwich and
tickets cost £15. Call

There is also plans for Robert to appear with another 1960s Birmingham musician, Mike Sheridan this year, but that ones still in the planning stage, check back for updates.
Captain Carstairs’ Cavalcade of Curiosities
On Friday 25th April, Robert Lane joined the rest of The Raving Loonies Stole My Heart, plus guests, on stage at the Arena Theatre Wolverhampton. The show, called Captain Carstairs’ Cavalcade of Curiosities was an “anarchic romp” based around the idea of a collection of unusual curios and odd individuals, and featured solo stand up performances as well as a number of sketches in quite a range of styles.Robert played Captain Carstais, as well as writing, co writing and performing in a number of the sketches. He also acted as “sound man man” and two little bits of Robert’s music made their way into the precedings.
The event was filmed, and at some point in the future the DVD should be available, and the evening or some of it should find it’s way onto youtube.

Possible dates supporting 1960s legends
Robert has recently been talking to a promotion team who have been putting on gigs featuring veteran 1960s rockers. Robert will be supporting these performers at dates at the end of 2008 and middle of 2009, including performances in his home town of Castle Bromwich. Robert finishes his BA(hons)Friday, 2nd May, and will then be busily getting a new CD ready. The CD will be available at gigs, and hopefully CD Baby. Check back for updates.Raving Loonies make semi finals of BBC talent competition.
Raving Loonies Stole My Heart were knocked out of BBC 3’s
Upstaged competition. The Loonies took part in 5 days of competition, beating off four competitors thanks to audience votes. Each day they had to perform for 6 hours in a glass box in Bristol’s Millennium square. The act comprised a mix of sketches, stand up, improve and the like, plus Robert providing three or four songs each day. Thanks to all who voted, check out Robert’s round up of it all on his blog.
